Thompson Center Arms Super 14 Contender in 7-30 Waters Caliber

Product description

***NICE*** Thompson Center Arms 7-30 Waters Super 14 Contender with Iron Sights

This circa 1986 Thompson Contender is in excellent condition. The bluing on this “easy open” style frame are 98% intact and 100% intact on the barrel. The barrel’s rifling is immaculate. I purchased the barrel and it came in a box and it appears to be unfired. There are some handling marks on the forend; nothing major. The walnut / rubber pistol grip is perfect. No discernible marks on it at all. I can send more pictures upon request.

More about the product

History

Developed by wildcatter Ken Waters for lever action rifles, the 7-30 Waters is based on the 30-30 Winchester necked down to 7mm, designed as an attempt to produce superior external ballistics to the parent cartridge. The wildcat was picked up by Winchester in 1984 and released in their Model 94 Lever action rifle but with a longer than usual 24” barrel. Winchester retained the name of the original wildcat.
This cartridge found a niche through the Thompson Center Contender handgun, available in the U.S, the T.C.C rifle version being exported world wide.

Performance

The 7-30 has been used to take all manner of game around the world by inquiring minds, nevertheless, this cartridge does its best work on lighter medium game at close woods type ranges.

Original price was: $1,050.00.Current price is: $950.00.

Bore sighting my Ruger American saved a lot of wasted shots and time. It put me on the paper and allowed me to zero the rifle. Thank you Three Oaks for the precision work that you did!
